Oswald Adds 6 New Hires Serving as Project Engineers and Construction Managers

Oswald Company, Inc., a Cincinnati based development and construction company, is pleased to announce their continued growth with six new team members joining the Oswald family. Jim Kinney and Matthew Calhoun will serve as Project Engineers, while Shawn Huber, Joe Oscar, David Gehrlich, and Dustin Blevins are Oswald’s newest Construction Managers.  

As Project Engineers, Jim and Matthew will assist Oswald’s Project Managers and Field Construction Managers in planning, directing, and managing a project’s daily operations, including construction schedule updates, monitoring requests for information and reviewing submittal information for accuracy.  They will also assist the project teams with setting up bid packages, conceptual pricing, and value engineering. 

Jim excels in project management and developing improvement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity. As a leader, Jim develops strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients, utilizing clear and consistent communication to make sure all moving parts are coordinated well. A graduate of the University of Evansville, Jim also completed Construction Management Training.  

Matthew Calhoun, a veteran of the United States Army Reserves, provides a broad range of experience and leadership to the Oswald team as a Project Engineer. While leading his team, Matthew demonstrates a keen ability to prioritize and execute tasks with efficiency and attention to detail. Adaptable and able to make needed adjustments, Matthew’s work focuses on client satisfaction and meeting deadlines. Matthew earned a BA in Construction Management from Northern Kentucky University and completed various training courses from the US Army Corps of Engineers.  

As Construction Managers, Shawn, Joe, David and Dustin will be responsible for the planning, directing, and managing the daily field operations of a construction project. In this role, each will demonstrate a talent for multitasking, collaborating, and adapting to changes. They will maintain a strong customer focus and build a cohesive and effective construction team that delivers quality results in a safe environment.  

Shawn Hubers offers over 15 years of experience in the construction field as he joins Oswald as Construction Manager. Having demonstrated success on a variety of jobs including infrastructure improvement, environmental remediation, and demolition and construction projects, Shawn is a welcomed addition to the Oswald staff. Shawn earned a BA in Business Management from Almeda College and University.  

Joe Oscar previously worked as a Superintendent and Project Engineer, demonstrating leadership and excellence while working on the $212 M restoration and renovation on Union Terminal. Joe’s ability to coordinate efforts between exterior, interior trades, and MEP, prove that he is an effective manager with 15 years of construction experience. Joe is an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Construction Management.  

David Gehrlich, a 25-year veteran in the construction field, offers a depth of experience and expertise that Oswald greatly values. Throughout his career David has led teams from preconstruction through punch-list completion, and every step in between. Oswald is pleased to have David join the team.  

Dustin Blevins has a proven record of delivering quality work on budget and under tight time constraints while working as a Superintendent. His ability to juggle multiple tasks and coordinate the efforts of several team members will serve him well in his role as Construction Manager. Dustin received training in Construction Management from Miami University and Civil Engineering from Write State University.
